Vintage Notes 2026
REL Batches:
Pet-Nat Rose – Status: Fermented, Cold Settling.
Pretty pink colour. Delicate strawberry flavours and aroma. Acidity in the right place for secondary fermentation.
Grenache – Status: Fermented, In Barrel, MLF.
Very deep colour this year. Similar flavour profile though – strawberry, raspberry, mixed berry jam. MLF prickle.
One Tree Hill Shiraz – Status: Fermented, In Barrel, MLF.
Very pretty wine. My favourite Shiraz style. Aromatic and red berry/satsuma plum. Acid is slightly tart but MLF.
Uley Shiraz – Status: Fermented, In Barrel, MLF.
Inky purple colour. Nose is closed, palate is brooding black plum and dark berries – very structural.
Clare Riesling – Status: Fermented, Stable, Racked.
On point for our style. Citrus and pineapple. Great acidity. Will sit well with our rose for Blush Riesling.
*A 50:50 blend of OTH:Uley Shiraz looks like a promising blend.
CLIENT BATCHES:
Cab Franc Pet-Nat – Status: Fermented, Cold Settling.
Very cidery again. Over-ripe pear and Tarte Tatain. Similar to last year Botrytised. Interesting wine.
Cab Sauv Pet-Nat – Status: Fermented, Cold Settling.
Intense berry characters include currant. Juicy and textural. Intense colour – amazing.
Cab Franc Rose – Status: Fermented, Stabilising.
Looks great. Lots of texture, beautiful colour. Subtle berry fruits and a hint of pear crunch.
